Living Out Loud: Expression Creativity, and Being Bold
University of North Dakota – Grand Forks, ND – Saturday, November 03, 2018
Expressing our identities and being our authentic selves can be challenging in environments that do not always have LGBTQ+ representation or visibility. It takes courage to be bold and express our identities when it may feel like you are the only one. The theme will focus on ways campuses can promote inclusion through various forms of LGBTQ+ visibility and support. Visibility can be found in art, through storytelling, on the clothes we wear, during community events, and so much more. The goal is to share ideas, perspectives, and initiatives in how we can work to create a sense of community, engage in conversations on gender and sexuality, and serve LGBTQ+ students so they can have the confidence to be their authentic self.
Program proposals will be accepted on the basis of: inclusion initiatives, LGBTQ+ education, student leadership experiences, personal narratives, artistic/creative presentations and navigating campus challenges or barriers.
